Powerline networks transmit data (phone calls and faxes as well as e-mail and Web pages) over regular electrical wiring, transforming every electrical outlet in the immediate area into a network connection. Wires and sockets are used simultaneously
Imagine, Your company is so successful, you need to move. Well if you invested thousands of dollars in wiring the building you would have to leave it all behind. The next company will benefit from your investment. With Power Line Communications technology all you have to do is remove the equipment, move to your new location, setup the equipment and presto, your back in business! Power line communications (PLC) utilizes the existing power line infrastructure within the building as a physical transport media. Since PLC uses existing electrical wiring, it is not necessary to install new, dedicated wiring or cabling - a major benefit to older or historic buildings where environmental issues or architectural preservation may be a concern.
There are no limitations with PLC technology. The age of the building, the size of the building, how the building was constructed (for example, a high degree of concrete or steel, asbestos, etc.) is not an issue. Installation is quick and simple. There is no need for a timeconsuming analysis of network element placement. Installation can typically be completed in one day, without an disruption to everyday activities. Once the system is connected to the electrical system of a building, users can access the system via ordinary outlets in guest rooms, common areas, meeting rooms, offices, etc.
